Follow these instructions to configure your Google Workspace account to connect to WhosOff for single sign on purposes.

PRE-REQUISITES:

  • You will need an administrator account to access the Google Admin Console
  • You need to have an existing account with WhosOff
  • You will need to be a registered super user on your WhosOff account

Configuration

1. FROM WITHIN YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT

  • Login to your Google admin console
  • From the Home page, go to Apps, then click on SAML apps

  • Click on the + at the bottom right
  • Locate and click WhosOff in the application list

2. DOWNLOAD YOUR METADATA FILE

  • On the Google IdP information page, download the “IDP metadata” file to a location on your computer (remember this for later)

  • Click Next
  • On the Service Provider details page, provide the following information:
    • Ensure the entity ID is whosoff
    • Ensure the Name ID values are:
      • Basic Information
      • Primary Email
  • Click on Next & finish.

3. FROM WITHIN YOUR WHOSOFF ACCOUNT

  • Login to your WhosOff account
  • Click Administration on the left hand menu
  • Click Admin dashboard
  • On the right of the resulting page, click Company settings

  • Click on the Single Sign On tab (left hand side)
  • From the SSO provider drop down, select Google and click on Activate SSO

4. COMPLETE YOUR CONFIGURATION

  • You will be prompted to supply your Meta Data file
  • Click on the Choose file button to locate the file you downloaded earlier
  • Once selected, click on the Upload button
  • If successful, you will receive a confirmation that looks like the following:

5. ENABLE WHOSOFF SAML CONNECTOR

  • Login to your Google admin console
  • From the Home page, go to Apps, then click on SAML Apps
  • Select WhosOff
  • At the top right of the grey box, click Edit Service
  • Ensure that your WhosOff user account email address matches those in your Google account

6. VERIFY THAT GOOGLE SSO IS WORKING

  • Navigate to https://app.whosoff.com
    • If you have chosen to “Force SAML” you will be automatically redirected to the Google sign-in page.
    • If you have chosen NOT to “Force SAML” you will see the option to login through Google on the next screen, similar to the following screenshot:

  • After you have authenticated your login with Google you will be redirected to your WhosOff dashboard.
Note: If you would like to force users to Authenticate through Google, make sure "Force SAML" is selected as "Yes" then click on Save Changes. This will only apply to users who log in on the web platform, the mobile app will not be affected.
